The Waking Up movie project is put on ice for a while.
The feedback and input from all of you have been tremendous and overwhelming!
Too overwhelming, I must say. So overwhelming I have to throw in the towel and take stock of where we are.
There have been around 8 plot suggestions and story lines, including my own, dosens of scene additions and hundreds of comments. I’ve lost count. All of it amounting to hundreds of pages of scenes and storytelling.
It has been all good, and an invaluable experience, and I would have continued this except for one thing; It was too much.
All my time went into answering comments and suggestions, and I lost focus. Juggling all the different suggestions and comments and trying to build one coherent story became too difficult. I need time now, to take some steps back and get a perspective. To look thoroughly at all the submissions and ideas, and see if anyone stand out.
In addition, this film needs more research. A lot more research. The mindset of the people in this world and how it works has to be understood. The technology and how advanced it will actually be in a 100 years. A way to create drama, conflict and action in this peaceful world has to be thought out. There have been suggestions, but none that have really hit me so far.
More books needs to be read. More trends needs to be analyzed. The central theme of free giving and receiving in a moneyless world needs to be thoroughly understood.
I also want to do more short films, documentaries and maybe a full length narrative film set in today’s world before I embark further on the Waking Up movie project. These other films will be in the same genres, and will work as research towards the Waking Up movie.
In the mean time, I leave this project to the Universe, to you who read this, and to everyone and anyone who have ideas. It is open source, which means that anyone can take these ideas and make what they want out of it, non-commercial that is, or bring in completely new ideas.
I thank you all so far for your interest and contributions! See ya in a while.
